Bio

 

Jamarr (J.R.) Neyland is an African-American visual artist, based in Jersey City, New Jersey. He received a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in painting at Kent State University. He holds a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Childhood Learning and Behavior Disability. He currently teaches art and social skills to those with Autism at a creative arts therapy center located in northern New Jersey.

 

His artistic inspiration comes from his years growing up in the Midwest, the experiences of his culture, and his current occupation in special education. His works consist of mixed media, mainly acrylic and oil, while he also experiments in sculpture and found material.
